Commandos Add Local Talent

The Dieppe Commandos announced yesterday they have selected Jean Marc Leger and Robert Steeves as territorial picks for the 2009 MJAHL Draft.

Leger is a 17 year old forward that had a break out year with the Moncton Mark's Work Wearhouse Flyers.  The Memramcook native had 14 goals and 13 assists in his first season of Midget AAA hockey.  " Jean Marc will be a very good junior A player.  He does all the little things that coaches like and he is a highly skilled player" said Director of Operations Jean-Francois Damphousse.

Steeves is less known to Moncton area fans as he spent the past winter suiting up for Rothesay Netherwood High School.  The 15 year goaltender is a Moncton native who has been courted heavily by both major junior teams and the NCAA.  "He is an excellent student with a bright future and we are hoping Robert chooses the school route and plays in the Commandos program.  Robert came to last year's Commandos camp as a 14 year old and really impressed us. He has developed very well this season and will be a great addition to our program" added Damphousse.

The Commandos have already begun selling season ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season.  For more information, contact Jean Francois Damphousse at 858-8705 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
